The effect of time on materials after humans have gone; neglect; natural processes take over to create a window: the initial intent of the building’s design seen through layers of decay. I approach without a plan. Inspired by the architecture, the fixtures, and the model’s own improvisational relationship to the space, collaboration yields discovery.

As an electrical technician for over 18 years, I have studied the skeletons of buildings to devise the most efficient and elegant pathways for connecting bundles of wire. When I take a photo, the angles, lines, and forms come together with a similar functional beauty—the image composes itself.

As a technician. The ins and outs of the craft fascinate me: operating the camera, reading the light, translating light onto film, manipulating the chemical and physical properties of development and printing. I hold every aspect of the process in my hands. I have been taking art photographs since 2007, when my friend, a professional model, loaned me a medium-format camera and transferred her knowledge and experience from working with famous photographers to me.
